Wellness is our main purpose. We contribute to improving the quality of life of our employees and support them in achieving their short- and medium-term goals. We do this by providing comprehensive solutions to apply in any area of their lives, and we have built a wellness ecosystem based on three pillars: financial, social, and digital.

Financial

Debt consolidation

We work so that over-indebted people can resolve their situation, have sufficient liquidity to ensure their quality of life, and rewrite their credit history.

Tarjeta Siempre Sí

It is a tool to rebuild the credit record. It provides USD60 in financing and the option of depositing up to USD1,500 to be used as a debit card. If clients show good behavior, they may opt for a classic card.

Programa Bienestar (Wellness Program)

It allows clients to unify their debts, improve their liquidity, and save. The loan rate decreases if the client commits to start saving. Additionally, clients receive advice on how to organize their finances and rewrite their credit score history.

As of September 30th, 2025, the Programa Bienestar (Wellbeing Program) granted more than 364,000 loans that allowed beneficiaries to balance their income and expenses. Of all these clients, 143,000 enjoy a balanced relationship between their income and payment obligations.

Social Housing

We finance low-income housing on soft terms. We participate in fairs that promote housing projects with the endorsement of the Instituto de Fomento de Hipotecas Aseguradas of Guatemala (Institute for the Promotion of Insured Mortgages).

Social

Financial education

In addition, it has disbursed more than US$ 24,8 million in loans for debt consolidation.

Workforce inclusion

Bantrab firmly believes in labor inclusion and provides employment opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities. In this way, contributes to enhancing their independence, productivity, and personal development.

In 2025, this initiative celebrated its seventh anniversary and provides 20 internships at Bantrab for students from Instituto Neurológico de Guatemala (Neurological Institute of Guatemala), one of them with visual impairment.

Bantrab promotes the wellbeing of Guatemalan workers, regardless of their age.

This is why it offers employment resources for people over 60 years old, with job placements that accommodate their scheduling requirements.

+60 seniors work at Grupo Financiero Bantrab.

Annual hiring of 20 graduates from public schools, who achieve the highest scores in the Graduate Evaluation.

The lack of work experience is one of the barriers preventing young people from accessing the job market. Therefore, since 2022, Bantrab has benefited over +200 young apprentices aged between 18 and 24 with scholarships to undertake four-month internships.

This initiative, in collaboration with Ministerio de Trabajo y Previsión Social (Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare), facilitates the acquisition of skills and abilities, allowing apprentices to earn the minimum salary and enjoy legal benefits.

Women are the foundation of wellbeing in families, communities, and the nation. Despite this, they often face unequal opportunities for personal and professional growth, including difficulties in accessing financing.

At Bantrab, we believe this must change. To address this, we launched the program Women in Leadership for Wellbeing (Mujeres Líderes de Bienestar), an initiative designed to acknowledge the challenges women face and provide meaningful solutions in response.

We focus our work on five core pillars:

  • Education and development, offering free training programs and practical tools designed to strengthen their talents.
  • Inclusion, by promoting employment and leadership opportunities.
  • Financial solutions, designed to meet their real-life needs.
  • Integral wellbeing, through services that support their physical, emotional, and financial health.
  • And community, because together, women are stronger; And together, they drive meaningful change.

With the aim of supporting Guatemalans on their path to wellbeing, no matter where they are, we launched the program named Guatemaltecos Hechos de Valor (Guatemalans Built on Courage) as part of our strategy “No Matter where you are” (Estés donde estés).

This initiative focuses on three core segments: migrants who have returned from the United States, nationals currently residing abroad, and beneficiaries of remittances.

Through this program, we provide a platform for job seekers, financial education, and 200 employment opportunities within Grupo Bantrab.

We also maintain strategic partnerships with key institutions, including the Guatemalan American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham Guatemala), the International Organization for Migration (OIM), and others key institutions to enhance opportunities.

Sports Cluster

Sports are essential for physical wellness and contribute to social cohesion. For that reason, Bantrab supports the following disciplines:

Soccer

Alliance with Real Madrid

The Spanish club trains Guatemalan trainers, coaches, and physical therapists to raise the level of local sports. Since October 2022, lectures have been given to learn about the Real Madrid model and the club’s good practices, as well as technical topics on injuries, sports nutrition, game improvement, comprehensive athlete training, and strength training, among others.

This alliance also extended to two products bearing the Merengue Club’s seal: the Tarjeta Real card and the Ahorro Real savings account.

National teams

Strategic support to the Federación Nacional de Fútbol (National Soccer Federation) of Guatemala, especially to the coaches and players of the Major League, Sub 20, Sub 17, and Sub 15 men’s and women’s national teams.

Digital

Bantrab began its technological transformation six years ago to promote financial inclusion. The main efforts include:

Mobile application that has enabled the opening of almost 135,000 monetary and savings accounts, as well as the collection and payment of entrepreneurship and MSMEs.

Application for United States residents to send money free of charge and in real
time to their family and friends in Guatemala.

From BanConsejos we learned something essential: Guidance is also teaching. And now, thanks to technology, we can do it more closely, opportunely, and continuously.

This is how Bieneschat was born, a chatbot that answers questions about personal finances 24 hours a day. Behind its technology is the knowledge we have built over more than seven years of BanConsejos. Now, Guatemalans can get financial education support anytime by messaging on WhatsApp at 2415-1540.
